Luke Smart – Owner
With more than half of his life dedicated to the hairdressing industry, it is no surprise that Luke Smart is now proud to be the name behind the expanding hairdressing empire that is the Tribe Lifestyle Group. Being the founder and owner of three award-winning salons in Sydney, Luke’s aim is to continually raise the bar in both service standard and hairdressing excellence. While he is a multi-faceted professional who counts management, education, service and creative direction amongst his daily activities, it was a background of high-quality training that saw him rapidly rise to the top of his field. In 2000, Luke transformed the vision of owning his own distinctive salon into a reality with the opening of Luc Espace, followed by the Tribe Lifestyle salons in Chatswood and Sydney CBD. Judging by his experience and vision, Luke and his talented team look set to remain at the forefront of the new generation of hairdressing that values service as much as style.
Dario Di Tirro – Styling Director
Italian-born Dario Di Tirro knew he wanted to be a hairdresser from the age of 14. He has trained and worked with the world’s best and has imparted his skills to students from across the globe. His career began in Milan, where he studied with Toni & Guy before moving to London to train with Vidal Sassoon. His talent was evident with Dario first working as a stylist at the salon and later moving on to an educator role at the Vidal Sassoon Academy. In 2013, Dario moved to Australia to join Luc Espace and Tribe Lifestyle as the group’s styling director. He has collaborated for fashion shoots between London, Milan and Paris and has contributed to many editorial shoots including French Vogue and iconic British i-D magazine, as well as advertising campaigns for Benetton. Dario has been commissioned as a hairstylist for theatre productions around the world and has presented to large audiences at international seminars.
Lisa Finnimore – Operations Manager
Lisa Finnimore has always wanted to be a hairdresser. She has cut and coloured her own hair for most of her life and, even at the age of eight, Lisa’s desire to define her own style was so evident that she requested her hair be cut short – and kept it that way ever since. Lisa began her hairdressing career at 24, when she started as an apprentice after finding her psychology studies just weren’t the right fit. She worked as a colourist for eight years and decided to combine her love and knowledge of hair with her problem solving skills to become Luc Espace’s salon manager. Little did Lisa know that she’d be falling back on her psychology studies to help supervise the different personalities in the salon. Lisa now lives in Newtown but she grew up in Wahroonga, where her parents still live, so the North Shore will always be home for her. If you’re wondering about Lisa’s “accent”, it came from a one-year stay in the US with her best friend.
Charlie Fuller – Salon Guru Tribe Lifestyle Chatswood
This regional NSW guy has travelled the world to perfect his skills in hair. Charlie Fuller has been in hairdressing for the last decade, spending five of those years in Stockholm, Sweden, where he perfected the Scandinavian style and feel. Charlie has worked on Australian Hair Expo shows and internationally on Mercedes Benz Fashion Weeks and continues to work internationally whilst managing the Chatswood Tribe Lifestyle salon – traveling back and forth to Europe every five weeks to work as a colourist and stylist in Scandinavia’s top salon. Charlie’s work is regularly featured in editorials in European magazines and he is committed to Aveda on account of their professionalism, environmental concerns, salon guest satisfaction and industry position. Although Charlie decided to relocate back to Sydney in 2011, his constant travelling allows him to enjoy the best of both worlds with Nordic inspiration and the laidback, always-summer lifestyle that Bondi has to offer.
Jonny English – Salon Manager at Tribe Lifestyle CBD
Originally from London Jonny is passionate about hair and his clients – treating each and every guest at the salon as an individual, sharing his love and knowledge of hair. He has developed his passion over 13 years in the industry – 10 of them spent in London as the creative director and educator at Gina Conway Aveda Lifestyle Salon and Spa. That’s when he fell in love with Aveda and the way the company gives back to society. Jonny often styles hair for photo shoots and catwalk shows and he’s committed to keeping up to date with the latest fashion. Whilst he is salon manager, Jonny still continues to work as a senior stylist and colourist as it allows him to use his creative side and develop his team. Jonny moved to Sydney two years ago and loves the city – as well as yoga, running, traveling, animals, fashion and relaxing with a glass of red.
